There was a cocktail lounge with a long serpentine-style bar, two dance floors and a restaurant and coffee shop under the direction of Karl Johannsen, formerly of Chasen’s in Hollywood.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe owner was Elwood Maleville and he and his brothers John and Edwin also owned the highly popular Coral Reef restaurant (a bustling supper club and famous for its paper-wrapped chicken) and the Coral Reef Lodge and other businesses in Sacramento.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAmong the celebrity guests who stayed at the Sacramento Inn were Chuck Berry, Smokey Robinson, Sammy Davis Jnr and The Supremes.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe inn was sold in 1976, and it became the Red Lion Inn.
