When it opened in 1957, The Tropicana was the most lavish and expensive hotel and casino on the Las Vegas Strip.

It had 300 rooms, an impressive casino and its three restaurants including the Brazilian room were overseen by restaurateur Alexander Perino.

The Tropicana was featured in several movies in the 1960s, including Viva Las Vegas with Elvis Presley and Diamonds Are Forever with Sean Connery as British secret agent 007.

It is probably best known for hosting the long-running Folies Bergere and featuring performances by statuesque showgirls with extravagant costumes and immense headpieces, interspersed with comedy, magic, acrobatic and animal acts.

The show ran from 1959 to 2009.

This colorful and highly stylized menu for the Brazilian Room, which was open 24 hours a day, is from the 1970s and features the breakfast menu.
